      Here’s a weird hint: work on paper that is NOT WHITE. This is painted on cream DELTA multi-media paper.

    This a very striking drawing. The frozen quality of the figures is an ironic contrast to the heat of the beach. But that frozen quality reminds one of the frieze-like draftsmanship of Seurat. In fact, if one takes a close look at the various elements of the composition, it seems to bear a strong connection to the Grande Jatte.
