I have taken much of the summer off from posting so my sketches are a bit backlogged. Then it gets tedious to scan them all. So in future posts they will trickle into the flow.
To be good company for non-sketching companions, I try to use materials and approaches that are economical. The gray marker is my key tool in this regard- it lays a foundation and base for a sketch loosely. If I am wacky in proportion or contour I just draw directly over it and do not care it there is leftover evidence of the gaffe. It is more important to get a sense of the space or light than it is to get a bunch of accurate details. THE BIG PICTURE IS THE GOAL…a sense of activity, movement, ambiance.
C’mon and draw with us….
